Tom has a PhD in Pharmacology from Cambridge University and prior to completing his veterinary training worked in the pharmaceutical industry; initially in business strategy for GlaxoSmithKline and subsequently in portfolio management for the European Medicines Agency (EMEA).

Tom graduated from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in 2011 and, after spending some time in general practice and an internship at the RVC, completed his specialist training in Neurology & Neurosurgery in 2016. Tom subsequently spent two years as a Lecturer in Neurology & Neurosurgery at the Royal Veterinary College before joining Cave Veterinary Specialists in 2018. Tom is interested in all areas of neurology but has a particular focus on translational medicine, tissue banking and their application to neurological conditions.
