We would just like to keep you updated on two senior appointments we have made to further strengthen our practice.
Sarah Hicks – Hospital Director
We have recruited Sarah Hicks as our new Hospital Director. Sarah has enjoyed a varied career working across many sectors with an emphasis on business improvement, most recently in health and social care. Sarah said, “having worked in the human healthcare environment, I’m now really looking forward to transferring those skills to the world of animal health. I thoroughly enjoy the challenges of business improvement, raising customer satisfaction levels, and improving both efficiency and profitability. I’m very excited by what we can achieve here at Cave.”
Dr. Jennifer von Luckner ECVIM-CA (Internal Medicine), FHEA – Head of Internal Medicine
Dr. von Luckner, whose most recent roles have been in Australia and her native Germany, is the new Head of Internal Medicine here at Cave. An EBVS specialist in internal medicine and a much-travelled diplomate, her recent positions include a year spent as Associate Professor at Murdoch University in Perth.
Dr. von Luckner was born in Germany, where she graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine, Hanover, in 2002. She undertook advanced training in veterinary internal medicine in Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland and became a diplomate in 2011.
Dr. von Luckner said, “this is a big move for me – a relocation from my native Germany to embrace the chance to play a key role at one of the UK’s top referral centres. I’m very happy to be here and totally focused on ensuring we fulfil our commitment to provide the best possible care and treatment for our pet patients.”
Nele Van den Steen, our Co-clinical Director added, “we’re always seeking to attract the very best staff to Cave and both of these appointments reflect that. Jennifer’s appointment is certainly one where we’ve gone the extra mile, she’s a highly-experienced and respected specialist and we’re delighted she’s agreed to join our talented team. Sarah has joined us from a lot nearer home, but is another extremely important addition, bringing with her a wealth of business and performance skills. She’s built an impressive reputation with her business acumen and her ability to improve efficiency and profitability.”
