We can accept a wide variety of elective and emergency orthopaedic and spinal cases. All cases are seen by a specialist. Case management starts with the consultation and discussion of treatment options, prognosis and cost with the owners through to rehabilitation. At all stages the owner and referring vet are fully involved with the case. From all too common road traffic accidents to degenerative joint conditions or neurological problems, we support clients through diagnosis, surgery and rehabilitation.

The hospital is well equipped with advanced diagnostic equipment and surgical facilities which allow us to offer a comprehensive service with 24 hr monitoring for patients under our care. We have invested in Synthes surgical equipment and implants, Storz arthroscopy and IMEX linear and circular external skeletal fixators.

  • Arthroscopy : Elbow dysplasia, shoulder instability
  • Trauma Management: Acute management of trauma cases, internal / external fracture fixation, joint luxations, wound care, joint reconstruction
  • Salvage - Limb sparing procedures, arthrodesis
  • Correction of limb deformities - limb lengthening and angular limb deformity correction.
  • Joint Surgery - TPLO, Fibrewire extracapsular stabilisation, double pelvic osteotomy, hip denervation

Diagnosing lameness can often be the biggest challenge in orthopaedic referrals but we are equipped with the most advanced equipment to deal with this. We have access to digital radiography, CT, MRI and arthroscopy to enable us to build a most accurate profile for cases before treatment begins. When any diagnosis requiring surgery is achieved we aim to proceed as soon as possible and operations are able to be scheduled at short notice in one of our fully equipped theatre suites.

We take great care to ensure that owners remain fully informed at every stage of the referral process. During our initial consultations (1 hr), we will discuss the pet’s condition, potential causes, treatment options, prognosis and costs incurred. Clinicians are accessible to clients and referring vets who have patients under their care on a daily basis and we keep referring vets up date with any significant events during treatment.

Our specialists accessible, and like to help vets to manage routine and difficult cases in practice.
